North Fort Myers is a city within the Fort Myers area with a total area of 54.6 square miles. Population in North Fort Myers is 39,407 as of 2010. It is one of the cities that make up the Cape Coral-Fort Myers Metropolitan Statistical Area.
In the 1900’s North Fort Myers was known for their milling of processing old-world stands of pine trees brought in from eastern Lee County. It is the largest unincorporated city in Lee County mostly consisting of full and part time residents.
North Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce holds many activities year round for residents of the city including the annual North Fort Myers Taste of the Town. Residents and guests can enjoy the Shell Factory shops, restaurants, Nature Park and Fun Park as one of the amenities within North Fort Myers. Just a short drive over the bridge, downtown Fort Myers, also known as the “Florida River District”, is where shops, restaurants and galleries in the daytime, and bars and nightclubs in the evening, can be found.
