Marco Island lies in the Gulf of Mexico off of Naples in southwest Florida. Marco Island is 12.4 square miles with a population in 2010 of 16,413. With a tropical climate, Marco Island is the largest barrier island within southwest Florida’s ten thousand islands.

Marco Island, once known as “La Isla de San Marco”, traces back to 500 AD when the Calusa people inhabited southwest Florida. In 1896, many artifacts were discovered on Marco Island and can be found at the Smithsonian Institution on the island. In the late 1800’s development began with the first hotel known today as Olde Marco Inn.

  • World Realty was a pleasure to work with. My husband and I just bought our first home with the help of Mr. Reichert. Mr. Reichert was extremely patient and took me to look at probably fifty houses before we found “The One”. Mr. Reichert was always easy to get a hold of if I had any questions and helped make the process as smooth as possible. I would recommend the services of World Realty to anyone looking to buy a property. My husband and I will definitely be using them again in the future!
